ISRO Satellite Launch Update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the successful LVM3-M6 mission, describing it as an important advancement for India’s growing space ecosystem.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) conducted a dedicated commercial launch of the BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite aboard its heavy-lift launch vehicle LVM3-M6 on Wednesday. The rocket lifted off at 8:55:30 AM IST from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The mission was initially scheduled for 8:54 AM but was later rescheduled by a few seconds.
With a mass of 6,100 kilograms, BlueBird Block-2 has become the heaviest satellite ever placed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) by the LVM3 vehicle, marking a significant milestone in ISRO’s launch history. The mission highlights India’s increasing capabilities in handling complex and high-value commercial space launches.Sharing the update on X (formerly Twitter), ISRO announced, “Launch Day for #LVM3M6. LVM3-M6 lifts off at 08:55:30 IST carrying BlueBird Block-2 from SDSC SHAR.”
